Stripped

New Webster’s Dictionary Definition of Stripped: to remove medals, decorations, honours; to make something bare by taking away removable parts; to tear off.

While en route to a distant land: I recalled the ticket agent saying, “You have to be strip searched!” My response was, “Why?” She replied, “You have been randomly chosen.” But this made me upset because during most of my trips, I would be the one chosen to be strip searched and it was not a pleasant experience. My attitude caused the agent to become annoyed and she responded, “If you do not allow us to strip search you, you will not be allowed to board this flight!” I complied and discovered it was the wire in my waist nipper that caused me to miss my connecting flight.

At this moment, you may feel stripped of everything you owned but pause for a moment. Take a deep breath in, now breathe out! Relax and focus your attention on the Greater One: He was beaten, smitten, despised and rejected of men. Yes, Jesus Christ, the Lamb that was slain; He who knew no sin became what God hates and He suffered beyond all human suffering along with humiliation. Let’s read from the book of Isaiah fifty-three where the prophet foretold of the sufferings of Jesus Christ. (1)”Who has believed our report? And to whom has the arm of the LORD been revealed?” (2)”For He shall grow up before Him as a tender plant, and as a root out of dry ground. He has no form or comeliness; and when we see Him, there is no beauty that we should desire Him.” (3)”He is despised and rejected by men, a man of sorrows and acquainted with grief. And we hid, as it were our faces from Him; He was despised and we did not esteem Him.” Can you imagine how Jesus must have felt being stripped of everything? While you are thinking about that question let’s read what John wrote concerning the divinity and incarnation of Jesus Chris, from the Gospel of St. John 1:1-5 (1)”In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” (2)”He was at the beginning with God.” (3)”All things were made through Him and without Him nothing was made that was made.” (4)”In Him was life, and the life was the light of men.” (5)”And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it.” Yes, Jesus Christ became flesh and dwelt among us. (14)”And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.”

Now that you have regained your (Me too) focus, have you ever asked Abba Father to take away everything in you that is not of Him? Have you made a request for Yahweh to strip away all that would hinder your walk with Him? However, when the process of being stripped begins, you become very upset? You may have forgotten about the prayer you prayed years ago, “LORD, burn away everything that is not of you so that when people see me they would not be able to recognize me instead of letting them see the shining light of Jesus Christ through me?” Did you forget about the prayer of total surrender? Do you know it is quite possible that you and I have been giving Yahweh lip service and truthfully, we do not want to suffer for the cause of Christ? We do not and in some cases, we outright refuse to walk in total obedience. All too often we allow ourselves to become complacent and remain content in our comfort zone. Therefore we fail to see the divine purpose that Yahweh has chosen to bless us with. There is a great shifting and right now where you are and you could be experiencing great turbulence with practically everything you have owned is being taken from you. You could be wondering, “LORD, why?” Can I tell you? You could possibly be in transition being stripped of all that is not of Yahweh. The God, who has redeemed and calls you His own. Stripped of everything that would hinder and weigh you down and prevent you from walking to your place of destiny?

Take another moment to reflect on the Greater One, Jesus Christ and if you constantly keep Him in your focus your perspective would change. I remembered being defiant and did not want to be strip searched but when I was told I would be denied access to boarding the flight this changed my perspective.

Do you want to go to heaven when you die? If you answered in the affirmative then in this life you (Me too) must willingly take off those things which weaken and hinder fellowship with Abba, Father. I did not want to remove my waist nipper even though the metal rod in it was sending an alarm to the machine that I was carrying something illegal. Question, what is it that you love and hold so dearly and refuse to remove, although your walk with God is being weakened?

It is possible, you could be a chosen vessel set apart to be stripped for your time of elevation? Let this be your focus and never lose sight of Jesus Christ being stripped and now sits on the right hand of Abba, Father where He makes continual intercessions for you! Be encouraged and strengthened during your process of being stripped.
