Can’t Touch This

Did you know that you are the “…apple of God’s eye (Zechariah 2:8)?” There is absolutely nothing the devil can do to you unless God allows it (Job 1:12). In any event, if God permits the enemy to attack you in any way, form or fashion, it is only because God knows that you are more than capable to survive the attack. Haven’t you heard in His word that God will not put more on you than you can bear (I Corinthians 10:13). Since this was clearly stated in God’s word, you and I can rest assured that amidst the fiery trials, we can shout, dance, leap, laugh, smile and be happy.

I am reminded of the three Hebrew boys, who in the Book of Daniel 3 were thrown in the fire because they refused to bow to the Babylonian god. The enemy thought for sure that placing them in the fire would destroy them. Fortunately, Biblical history recalls that their fiery encounter was one of their most victorious moments. It was so glorious that the King of Heaven, appeared in person just to ensure God’s protection.

Moreover, the king of Babylon, in a state of confusion and a stare reported that three people were supposed to be in the fire, but he had seen four instead. The fourth person he described as “..the Son of God (Daniel 3:25).”

Jesus said He “…would be with (us) always, even to the ends of the world (Matthew 28:20).” Whereas, the battles we face from time to time may seem too hot to handle, a fair warning to our adversary, “Can’t touch this!” When the king of Babylon ordered his guards to increase the temperature of the fire. He lost a few good men. When he instructed them to throw the Hebrew boys in the fire, again he lost a few more good men.

In the end, Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego endured the firey furnace and came out untouched. You are about to exit your fiery furnace and all you have to do until God gives the all clear is continue to trust and believe that God is in control. There is nothing the devil can do to you. Declare this day, “Can’t Touch This!
