On Tuesday, December 4, shortly after 7:00 p.m., a 22-year-old male believed to be Kiyano Bowe was hospitalized. At press time, The Freeport News confirmed that he remained in serious condition due to stab wounds about the body.
Police in Grand Bahama are currently investigating the incident which took place in the Burger King area at Ranfurly Circus. Meanwhile, this daily made contact with an eyewitness who assisted the injured man.
“I was the first on the scene, and I came out my vehicle and I applied pressure to his wound. While I was waiting on the arrival of the ambulance, I was talking to the victim and I was asking him questions to keep him alive.”
The eyewitness said that the victim also admitted to having heart problems and alleged that he was the victim of a gang assault.
The Freeport News received official information also from Press Liaison Officer and Assistant Superintendent, Terecita Pinder. She disclosed that the victim was assisted at the Rand Memorial Hospital where he was seen by doctors and was listed in serious condition.
A short time later, according to Pinder, the Police took into custody a 19-year-old male of Sea Grape, Eight Mile Rock, and he is assisting with the investigation into this matter.
In other news, Police on the island of Bimini reported that on December 4, shortly after 9 a.m., and acting on information, Police officers went to an abandoned hotel and discovered a bag containing a black .40 pistol in a room with 29 live rounds of .40 ammunition.
No arrest was made.
