Police investigating robbery at Int’l Bazaar business

Police in Grand Bahama are investigating an armed robbery that occurred on Monday, January 7

According to police reports, shortly after 1:00 a.m., officers were called to a business establishment in the International Bazaar where two culprits, one armed with a firearm entered that establishment and robbed the cashier of monies and two patrons of cash and personal items.

Police continue to actively investigating this matter and are appealing to the public for any information that can help them solve this matter, to call the Central Detective Unit at 350-3107, 911/919 or call your nearest police station.

In national crime news, police in New Providence announced that an adult male was formally charged in Magistrate Court at 12:00 noon on Monday (January 7) in connection with a homicide investigation.

A 42-year-old male was arraigned on a charge of murder, in connection with the death of Terrance Ricardo Rolle, who was shot and later died, on January 1, 2019 while at Market Street.

The RBPF thanks members of the public for assisting with information, which has led to the arrest of a suspect in this matter. “We are encouraged by your support and ask that you continue to partner with us as we work diligently to create safer communities.”

Police in New Providence are also investigating the country’s first traffic fatality for the year which occurred on Sunday, January 6. According to reports, shortly after 12:00 midnight, police were called to the scene of a traffic accident on Poinciana Drive, involving a male riding on a 1999 Honda 650X Trail motor bike and a female driving a 2007 silver Honda Jeep.

The male, who suffered serious injuries and was transported to hospital by paramedics later succumbed of his injuries. The female driver suffered minor injuries.

Officers from the RBPF Traffic Division are investigating this incident.

Police in the capital are investigating a stabbing incident, which left two adult males with injuries, Sunday (January 6). According to reports, shortly after 10:00 p.m., two men were on Potter’s Cay Dock, when they got into an altercation with a group of men, resulting in them being stabbed. Both men were transported to hospital where one of them remain in critical condition and the other in stable condition.

Investigations are ongoing.
