Police discover nine plots of marijuana plants.

Drug Enforcement Unit Officers are investigating the discovery of nine plots of cultivated marijuana plants.

Police press officer, ASP Terecita Pinder reported that after 12 midday Wednesday, February six DEU officers, acting on information, went to an area off Midshipman Road near Barbary Beach, where the plots were found.

The report noted that the plants ranged from one foot to four feet in height.

The estimated value of the plants is said to be around $600,000.

No arrests were made in this matter.

Meanwhile, officers of the Central and Mobile Divisions made several arrests on Wednesday (February 6).

Armed with a search warrant, officers from Central went to a home on Bass Lane where they arrested a male occupant for carrying on a business without a license.

He was taken into custody and the items confiscated.

In the second incident, officers of the Mobile Division arrested five persons for outstanding Warrants of Arrest issued by the Magistrate Courts for various serious criminal matters.
