Nine taken into custody for possession of dangerous drugs

Officers of Rapid Response arrested nine males from the Philippines and Peru for Possession of Dangerous Drugs with the intent to supply.

According to reports, on Sunday, July 8 shortly after 2:00 a.m., officers of Rapid Response, acting on information and armed with a search warrant, went to an apartment complex on Waterfall Drive, where they discovered a duffle bag containing five packages, each containing suspected cocaine.

All persons were arrested and taken into police custody.

The weight of the suspected cocaine is 12 lb. and the estimated street value is $75,000.
In other local crime news, officers from the Eastern Division and Rapid Response recovered stolen property and arrested a male suspect.

Reports are that on Saturday, July 7 shortly before 6:00 p.m., officers of the Eastern Division and Rapid Response, acting on information and armed with a search warrant, went to a residence on Catamaran Avenue, where they recovered a quantity of stolen items.

A male of that residence was arrested and taken into police custody.

The RBPF continues to appeal to anyone with information regarding any crime, no matter how small or insignificant (the tip) may seem, to anonymously call police at 919 or crime stoppers at 328-tips (8477) (New Providence) or 1-242-300-8477 (Family Islands.)

The RBPF also advises members of the public that if they see or suspect a crime is being committed to pay particular attention to the features of the offender or offenders and any vehicles involved.
