Former Miss Grand Bahama (2015-2016), Danielle Pratt and friends are preparing to host the Third Annual Girls Only Workshop, ‘Embracing Your Inner Queen,’ on Saturday, June 23, from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall of Freeport Bible Church.

This workshop for girls ages five to 17, is designed to help them embrace their inner beauty and build their self-confidence. “As someone who once suffered with a low self-esteem, it is my aim to empower young girls by building their self-esteem and helping them to discover the queen within each of them,” said Pratt.

The current Miss Grand Bahama, Rickell Munnings, will be the special guest speaker.

She will give a short talk to the girls about what it means to embrace their inner queen.

The girls will then be separated in various age groups to participate in activities such as Arts and Crafts, Etiquette, Fitness, Health and Hygiene, Hair Care, Skin Care, Make-Up and Modelling.

Ashley Rolle from Gifted Handz Salon and Spa will be giving a motivational talk to the older girls, and she and her team will also do the Make-Up and Hair Care sessions with them.

The day will end with a ‘Summer Time, Fun Time’ Picnic on the field of Freeport Bible Academy, adjacent to the church and all of the girls will then release their “I am beautiful” balloons in the air.

“I hosted the event for the first time in 2016 as a part of my platform as Miss Grand Bahama. It was a great success! Many of the girls as well as some parents inquired about it continuing and therefore, I decided to make it an annual event. It is my plan to make it bigger and better each year adding something new for the girls to enjoy. I am grateful to the corporate sponsors who have partnered with me over the past two years helping to make this workshop a success,” Pratt said.

Sponsors so far for this year include – Grand Bahama Shipyard Limited (third time sponsor); Keys Bahamas Realty (third time sponsor); Grand Bahama Sports and Travel (third time sponsor), Grand Bahama Port Authority, Pelican Bay Hotel, Gifted Handz Salon and Spa, the Crafting Corner, Marv Lamar Photography, Simple Favors and Paradise Cove.

“Anyone interested in sponsoring this event, helping to empower young ladies, may contact me at telephone number 553-4635. We are preparing to host 150 girls this year.”

There is a minimal fee for the workshop, which will include an ‘Embracing Your Inner Queen’ T-Shirt, goodie bag with fun girlie items, snacks and lunch.
