The Snackums Group of Companies (Snackums, Nickels and Dimes, The Meat Market and Chicken Depot) have over the years assisted the community in various areas, giving back to the community that has continued to patronize their businesses.
This year is no exception, they have decided to give back in a different way by giving away over 100 pairs of school shoes to primary school children who are truly in need.
According to Jessica Smith, Snackums’ Manager, they are appealing to the public on this venture – to share the names of individuals that are deserving of the free shoes – through their ‘Snacks for Tracks’ initiative.
“We are hosting a Back-to-School promotion here at Snackums. We decided to do something a little different this year, rather than just give back packs and school supplies,” Smith disclosed, noting that Snackums is a group of companies that believes in giving back to the community.
“When you shop at Snackums you will be eligible to enter the names of persons that are truly in need of school shoes.
“We are asking for the public’s assistance; to identify those that are truly in need. We intend to give the shoes to 150 school students that are in need of school shoes. Next week we would like to start giving them out; therefore, we are encouraging persons to come into Snackums, make a purchase and submit the name of a child that can use a pair of shoes in September.
“We are asking that persons leave the name and contact of the student, their shoe size and their gender.”
Smith revealed that as the Snackums Group of Companies, has had Back-to-School initiatives over the years, but this venture is the first of this kind.
“When our customers come in and shop here, they are actually helping us to give back to the community and those that are truly in need. Snackums is located in the Riibo Plaza and is open Monday through Saturday.”
Persons can also enter the name of children in need of the free shoes by sending an email to email@example.com, or by sending a Facebook message to Navardo Saunders.
