Scholar Athlete of the Year Award 2018

SCHOLAR-ATHLETES OF THE YEAR ANNOUNCED — In grand fashion the Grand Bahama Sports and Travel 2018 Scholar-Athlete of the Year award winners were announced at the Bahamas Union of Teachers Hall this past Sunday. The athletes were dressed in their Sunday best and waited anxiously to see who would be crowned this year’s winners. Pictured left, McKell Bethel was announced as the senior boys’ winner over runner-up Desmond Butler, right.

The Scholar Athlete of the Year Award race for senior boys was hotly contested throughout the 2017 - 18 season. The two-time Player of the Year and Jack Hayward star athlete, McKell Bethel beat out Player of the Year in basketball, Desmond Butler of Tabernacle Baptist Academy by the slimmest of margins, 64-63.
