When You are in the Deep

If you are going to do anything great in life, there will be opposition, setbacks, delays and critics. A lot of people become discouraged and wonder, “Why is this happening to me”? It is because you are taking new ground, making progress and sad to say but some people don’t like to see others progress in life.  Psalm 107 23-24 says, “They that go down to the sea and do business in deep waters, they will see the works of the Lord, and the wonders of God.” When you are in deep waters you are not praying, “God please don’t let me face anything big,” but you realize when you have big dreams you are going to have big challenges. If you were an average person then you would have average problems, but you are not average; you are not in the shallow waters. God put seeds of greatness in you. He has destined us to leave our mark on this generation. So you cannot expect ordinary problems because you are not ordinary, you are a history maker, a world changer. Some may think, “Why are these people talking about me at work, trying to make me look bad?” Listen, they don’t talk about average people; Take it as a compliment. You might be saying, “Every time I try to move forward I face major challenges, but this too is because you are a major person and you have a major destiny.

The enemy would leave you alone if you weren’t a major threat; he wouldn’t even bother you if you didn’t have something amazing in your future and because of your extraordinary challenges, God being an extraordinary God our Father, He can get you to where you are supposed to be. When you are in the deep waters you are wasting your time trying to convince everyone to like you; win over all your critics, prove to your family members that you really are okay. Everybody is not going to understand you; your friends may not celebrate your success; your relatives may find fault; your coworkers may get jealous but through it all just shake it off and run your race. You are doing business in deep waters. When you are out there in deep waters you cannot touch the ground. You cannot see the shoreline and at times it can get a little rocky. Those are the times when the critics will be all over you. Like I said before, you serve an extraordinary God who can do anything but fail, so don’t worry. You may not see how things are going to work out, but the scripture tells us that “deep calls unto deep.” In other words, God is the one who has called you into the deep waters. He is with you and He knows there are deep things on the inside of you.

Remember in the deep waters you are not alone. God is with you and He is causing those deep things inside of you to come forth. If you feel like you are out in the deep today, if you feel like you are overwhelmed, remember you are in the right place and God is with you. You will see his wonderful deeds in the deep and you will fulfill the plan He has in store for you.

Let us Pray: Father, I surrender every area of my life to you. I hunger for every single thing you have in store for me. I choose to trust you out in the deep waters knowing that you have good things in store for me. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.
