Inner Strength

“ And he said unto me, ‘ My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness.  2 Corinthians chapter 12:9. KJV.”

There was a knock at the door, I cautiously opened it without going into the evening air, (was recovering from the flu)  a channelled breeze swept over my entire body.  It was as if an entity stood and blew sand directly at me using the wind.  I felt my body collapsing, surely this could not be happening. But before I could complete this question, my body slumped toward the door and I held on to the doorknob, experiencing nausea with an urgency to head for the bathroom…it was horrible.  Not knowing whether to throw up or use the bathroom, these words from deep within were spoken, “The Blood, the blood of Jesus!  Repeatedly, “the blood of Jesus, I plead the blood of Jesus!” I stood up, but found myself slumped over the basin, calling upon the blood of Jesus!  The enemy had come to eat up my flesh. Instantly as I attempted to walk toward my bed, I heard the words of the Psalmist David from Psalm 27:1-3 KJV. (1) “The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear?  The LORD is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?

(2) “When the wicked, even mine enemies and my foes, came upon me to eat up my flesh, they stumbled and fell.”

(3) “Though a host should encamp against me, my heart shall not fear: though war should rise against me, in this will I be confident.”

I  made it to my bed, the word ensued from the book of Isaiah chapter 54:17 “No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou halt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and their righteousness is of me, saith the LORD.”  Abba, Father reminded me that Jesus Christ, His Son, had already won the battle against all principalities and powers of wickedness, when He raised Him from the dead.  Abba, Father lovingly said, Margaret, I am enlightening your eyes to see Me demonstrate My Power to destroy and dismantle wickedness!  The word from Ephesians chapter one verse (18) “The eyes of your understanding being enlightened, that ye may know what is the hope of His calling, and what the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints,”  (19) “And what is the exceedingly greatness of his power to usward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power,”  (20) “ Which he wrought n Christ, when he raised him from the dead and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places,”  (21) “Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that it named, not only in this world but also in that which I to come:”  (22) “ And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church,”  (23) “Which is his body, the fullness of him that filleth all in all.”  The LORD revived and healed me!  As I sat at the dining room table, Abba Father spoke these words to me, “Inner Strength!”

Wherever you are on your journey despite the fact that we live in an evil time, it is so important to call upon inner strength.  Maybe you have been faithful and obedient to God in your walk, but things remain unchanged.  Is it possible that you (me too) have been doing things in your own strength; therefore, you have become completely exhausted, disgusted and discouraged. However, begin this day to call upon your inner strength.  Take note of the apostle Paul’s experience from the Epistle of 2 Corinthians chapter 12 beginning with the verse (8) “For this thing I besought the Lord thrice, that it might depart from me.” (9) “And he said unto me, “My grace is sufficient for thee:  for my strength is made perfect in weakness.  Most gladly, therefore, will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.”  Verse (10) “Therefore, I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ’s sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong.”  The LORD did not take away the thorn, which was in apostle Pauls’s flesh but He gave him the comforting assurance that He would impart His grace and strength to sustain him.  Psalm 34:19 spoke so powerfully (19) “ Many are the afflictions of the righteous:  but the     LORD delivereth him out of them all.” (20) “ He keepeth all his bones: not one of them is broken.”  (21) “ Evil shall slay the wicked: and they that hate the righteous shall be desolate.”  You and I must learn to call upon inner strength. For the word, so emphatically states in 1 John chapter 4:4 “ Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you than he that is in the world.”

I was in recovery from the flu when I  stood at that front door, it seemed as if someone from another place stood and blew sand into the wind against me.  As I slumped over and felt nausea and an urgency to go to the bathroom not knowing which was first.  Up from my inner strength came these words, the Blood of Jesus! The Blood of Jesus! The Blood of Jesus, I plead, the Blood of Jesus!  Abba, Father demonstrated to me that evening, that His Almighty Power is superior against the kingdom of darkness.  A valuable lesson I shall never forget and have learned in all things and in every situation, to call upon inner strength.  I encourage you, no matter what you are faced with always call upon the Resurrection Power of Jesus Christ for He is your inner strength.  Much Love!
