The Assemblies of God Women’s Ministry of The Bahamas and Turks and Caicos Islands will host its Fourth Biennial National Ladies’ Conference beginning February 24 - 25, 2017 at Calvary Temple Church under the theme, ‘Beauty for Ashes.’
Rev. Dr. Margo Victor, Living Waters Assembly of God invites women throughout Grand Bahama to attend the conference and enjoy the powerful, apostolic gospel ministry of Church of God Eleuthera, Evangelist Carnetta Ferguson; First Baptist Church, Sis. Vivian Simons; Agape House Ministries’ Apostle Anne Grant; Calvary Temple Church Min. Rochelle Lockhart and Life Changers Ministry International Pastor, Cleopatra Williams.
“Last year October, the Fourth Biennial National Ladies’ Conference was delayed due to Hurricane Matthew making landfall on Grand Bahama; however, we are pleased to announce that we have re-organized, re-energized and are motivated to host the event this weekend.
“The Assemblies of God Women’s Ministry Fourth Biennial National Ladies’ Conference was established eight years by Min. Patrice Cooper, National Women’s Director, who saw the need to offer a ministry that will help women get through life’s greatest challenges.
“Conference theme, ‘Beauty for Ashes’ is taken from biblical text Isaiah 61:3, which states, “To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the Lord, that he might be glorified.
“And the conference promises to be high-spirited and uplifting bringing to light how faith in God can help women overcome living their best lives even after disappointment, despair, death of a loved one, sickness, shame or pain and even after devastating events like Hurricane Matthew,” said Rev. Dr. Victor.
“Despite the greater economic challenges our island now faces in the aftermath of Hurricane Matthew, we are happy to announce that the Ladies’ Conference is being held free of charge and is for every woman, who has not only survived the affects of the storm but also bravely overcome daily difficulties of life thereby making this year’s event holistic in its intention.
“We certainly believe that women will be healed from brokenness as well as life’s greatest challenges thanks to the dynamic lineup of ministers, who will bring true revelation through the word of God to all in attendance with the support of the local conference committee which includes Sis. Suezette Basden and Sis. Ida Barbs,” she added.
Seminar topics throughout the conference will include ‘Becoming Pure Again,’ ‘Physical Beauty’ and ‘Beauty in Relationships’ all of which are expected to demonstrate the spiritual message of ‘Beauty for Ashes’ and bring fresh insight on all aspects of a woman’s well being.
Kick-starting the conference on Friday evening, promptly at 7:15 p.m., will be Evang. Ferguson. She would then pass on the ministerial baton to Min. Lockhart, who will address teenaged girls and young to middle-aged adults, on the ‘Passion God and Becoming Pure Again.’
Teaching on ‘Physical Beauty’ will be Sis. Simons, who will hand off to Rev. Dr. Victor whose addressing the topic of ‘Beauty in Relationships,’ based on the numerous biblical text that provide a sound blueprint of the role of women in ministry, as wives and mothers as well as matriarchs of society.
Pastor Williams, the daughter of Evang. Ferguson, will speak during the Ladies’ Conference Lunch at A Social Affair Center (formerly Le Chateau on the Green/Water World Bowling Alley) and Apostle Grant, who has mounted many pulpits, will close out the Assemblies of God Women’s Ministry of The Bahamas and Turks and Caicos Islands Fourth Biennial National Ladies’ Conference.
